OK, so maybe the band, strictly speaking, wasn't a "sport" activity, but we were at every football game of the season putting on some very impressive halftime shows, and we marched in every parade in town.  And there were plenty of other state competitions that kept us busy throughout the rest of year, for both marching and concert band.  And it was pretty impressive to be called "The Governor's Own"!

The band made numerous trips to state competitions for marching and concert events.  The trips were never "all work and no play."  We had plenty of time for sightseeing and playing. . .on the beach, at museums, and at historic sites around the state.  (I had to dig real deep, guys, to come up with these treasures!)
